Great city of Leeds

‭Leeds is a vibrant city that has something for everyone, from arts, ‭sports and leisure, to entertainment and night life. With over ‭60,000 students, it is an exciting place to live and learn.

Perfect location

Leeds is the third largest city in the UK, located in Yorkshire. It is surrounded by the Yorkshire Dales and three other national parks. The city has excellent transport links to York, Manchester, Liverpool and London.

Arts and culture

The city has a strong reputation for performing arts, it is home to the West Yorkshire PlayhouseNorthern Ballet and Opera North. There are also many galleries and museums, including Royal ArmouriesLeeds Art GalleryHenry Moore Institute and the the Leeds City Museum where you can come face-to-face with Nesyamun – a real Egyptian mummy.


There are over 1,000 shops in Leeds, from independent boutiques, vintage shops and high street stores, to designer labels. Trinity Leeds has over 120 shops, bars and restaurants onder one roof. The city is also home to the Victoria Quarter, an 18th century shopping arcade, Kirkgate Market, the biggest indoor market in Europe.

Food and drink

There is a range of places where you can eat and drink, whether you are looking for a taste of home or something completely new. There are hundreds of cafes and restaurants serving food from around he world, including Italian, Mexican, South Asian and Japanese flavours.


Leeds hosts many events and festivals throughout the year, including the West Indian Carnival, the oldest Caribbean festival in Europe. Leeds Festival, one of the biggest annual live music events in the UK, attracts 70,000 people and the biggest names in music such as Foo Fighters.


Leeds is home to great sporting teams, from Leeds United Football Club to Leeds Rhinos. You can also watch live Test Match cricket at the Headingley Stadium. There are also many gyms and swimming pools in the city.

Yorkshire countryside

Beautiful countryside is just 20 minutes from the city. There is the coast, stunning landscapes, old villages and market towns for you to explore. You can also try activities such as horse riding, rock climbing and mountain biking.
