Outstanding Digital Innovation in Teaching or Research

The University of Leeds, in collaboration with the Leeds College of Art, wins the prestigious Outstanding Digital Innovation in Teaching or Research award by the Times Higher Education Awards 2016.

The award seeks to recognise innovative use of digital technology to improve learning, research and teaching. The interdisciplinary collaboration between the University of Leeds and Leeds College of Art launched the Virtual Landscapes Project, enabling students to explore virtual landscapes in a first-person computer game. The project was actively used for geology students to help learn the processes of boundary mapping. Other departments are now considering introducing similar technology models.
